ABOUT MULTI-CLOUD SUMMIT

Multi-Cloud defines a cloud ecosystem where the organization deploys two or more cloud services, normally by different providers. This event will explore fundamental challenges relating to multi-cloud strategy in addition to key themes relating to observability and security.

MULTI-CLOUD STATE OF THE INDUSTRY

A multi–cloud organization is one which deploys at least two or more cloud applications from different vendors. Many more organizations are embracing digital transformation, many are embracing a multi-cloud strategy due to the fact they can cherry pick cloud vendors best suited for a given application, thus giving them better oversight for cost control whilst enhancing productivity and efficiency. Nevertheless, challenges remain. Organizations need to know which vendor is the best for a given application in addition to navigating a complex cost environment and ensuring all data is fully protected. As such, join this session to fully understand the extent of the multi-cloud industry and learn how organizations are addressing some of the most common challenges.

THE IMPORTANCE OF OBSERVABILITY IN A MULTI-CLOUD ENVIRONMENT

Going cloud-native offers many benefits for an organization. From increased capabilities to reduced opex, many organizations are in a unique position to creating a before and after in the way they run their operations. Nevertheless, one challenge facing them is how to manage a multi cloud environment. Observability is the ability to monitor, in almost real-time, the internal system state of cloud networks by analyzing telemetry data. It allows organizations to be able to identify the root cause of unnecessary costs, problems, network interruptions and more. However, a survey conducted by Enterprise Technology Research reported that only 27% of organizations had achieved full-stack observability. This session will ask key questions, including: Why is observability so important in a multi-cloud environment? How can the industry upskill itself to address common challenges relating to the integration of observability architecture?

12:45 PM - 1:30 PM Panel Discussion | Moderator: Grant Lenahan, Principal Analyst, Appledore Research Group / Panelists: Dr. Venki Ramaswamy, Chief Technologist for NextG, MITRE Labs / Prakash Sangam, Principal, Tantra Analyst / Sree Nandan Atur, Technical Director – Symcloud, Rakuten Symphony / Fatih Nar, Chief Architect, Red Hat

SECURING A MULTI-CLOUD ECOSYSTEM

Although multi-cloud architectures are growing in their popularity, it has been observed that over half of the organizations that have deployed them do not feel as if they have sufficient security measures in place. As more and more organizations go multi cloud, there is a consensus that multi-cloud migration has outpaced security. Organizations operating a multi cloud architecture with different providers will need to address the greater surface attack area, they run the risk that should a breach be made in one application, it may well spread to another leaving their assets vulnerable. Zero trust technologies offer one solution to securing a multi cloud organization, but who deploys these? Should they be developed in house or outsourced? Join this session to understand what the common threats are and how organizations can take measures to protect against them.

2:00PM - 2:45 PM Panel Discussion | Moderator: Roy Chua, Principal, AvidThink / Panelist: Ildiko Vancsa, Director of Community, Open Infrastructure Foundation / Chris McHenry, Head of Security Solutions, Aviatrix / Pranav Dharwadkar, VP Products, F5
